Verb Tenses (3º ano)

Queridos alunos,

Segue relação de exercícios para praticar os tempos verbais estudados:

1) Form true sentences using the verbs below.

brush     not read     drink     have (x2)     not wash     go (x2)     get up     live     watch     weigh

Example: The average British man sleeps 8 hours 10 minutes a night.


  1. 22% of British families __________ to Spain for their holiday.
  2. The average British woman __________ 62 kilos.
  3. British teenagers __________ much, but they __________ television for over 19 hours a week.
  4. The average British teenager __________ at 7.20.
  5. A typical British man __________ a bath twice a week, but he __________ his hair each time.
  6. British people __________, on average, six cups of tea a day.

2) A man is phoning the police. Put the verbs in brackets into the present simple or the present continuous.

They (have) __________ a party and they (play) __________ music - very loudly. The man who (live) __________ there (have) __________  a party every weekend. 3) Put the correct fotms of the verbs. Use either the present continuous or the present simple.

They (not go) __________ by coach because James (not like) __________ travelling by coach. They (go) __________ by train. The train (leave) __________ Bristol at 12.15. 4) Odd records. Complete the sentences with verbs in the past simple. Choose from:

5) Sam had a party last night. His parents arrived home in the middle of the party. Describe what they found. Put in the correct form of the verbs.

They (be) __________ in the kitchen. They (eat) __________ chips and ice cream. One girl (lie) __________ on the piano. A boy (be) __________ asleep on the sofa. 6) Natalia is an Italian student at an English language school in England. She has been there for a month. She is writing to an American friend she met last summer. Complete the sentences with the right form of the verb.

I (not write) __________ to you this year - I'm sorry. This summer I (be) __________ very, very busy and I (be) __________ in England for a month now. I (have) __________ a lot of English lessons and I (learn) __________ a lot of English. I (make) __________ a lot of good friends at the school and I (meet) __________ some very nice English boys. 7) The following short conversations were heard at a party. Put the verb into the future with will or going to.
